Do you know much about Maidenhead Grid Squares? VHF/UHF and higher frequency contests use your grid square as part of a valid exchange. Most hams know the grid square when at thier home QTH. If you were portable or roving (mobile), how would you determine your grid square? I will explain Maidenhead Grid Squares and how they are calculated. Joel will demonstrate how to get your grid square using your phone/tablet and some other devices. He will have several available devices for demonstration and will describe building a micro-controller device for displaying your grid square while mobile.
