The Maine Mesh Networking Group has been working on a plan to implement a 5.8 GHz backbone supplemented by 2.4 GHz, using AREDN protocols. In 2022, Amateur Radio Digital Communications (ARDC) awarded a grant for $42,000 for this project. The Maine Mesh Networking Group is working in conjunction with the Maine Amateur Radio Foundation (MARF) as the 501c3 organized to help disseminate funds appropriately in the execution of this project.
